News: KSW returns to London in October for KSW45

Almost three years since their last visit to the city, KSW is set to return to London, England on October 6 at The SSE Arena, Wembley for KSW 45.

Following a breakout year in 2017, one which saw a record breaking stadium show and a debut in Ireland, KSW now returns to the UK for the first time since KSW 32 in 2015. That night saw almost 10,000 packed into The SSE Arena, Wembley to watch a host of KSW’s top stars including Mariusz Pudzianowski, Borys Mankowski, Tomasz Narkun and Mateusz Gamrot take to the cage.

“Our last show in London was a huge success,” said KSW co-owner Maciej Kawulski. “We are delighted to finally be coming back and showcase our event again to our fans, new and old, there. We promise to bring another action-packed fight card with our biggest names. England, you do not want to miss this!”

Tickets for the event will be on sale Thursday, June 7 at 10am local time from AXS.com.

News: KSW 44 fight card complete

KSW returns to the beautiful seaside town of Gdansk, Poland on June 9th with an action packed KSW 44 card set take place at the famous Ergo Arena.

Today, the final fight was added to the card. Poland’s own Lukasz Rajewski (7-3) will face Croatia’s Leo Zulic (8-2) in what promises to be an explosive affair as both men between them have twelve finishes, nine of which have come in the first round.

28-year-old Rajewski is currently 1-1 now during his second stint in KSW and will surely see this as a must win fight. Zulic on the other hand will be making his promotional debut and enters on a three-fight-win-streak with his last two opponents not making it past the first round.

This fight rounds off a nine fight card that is one of KSW’s more expansive cards to date featuring a host of international fighters along with a selection of KSW’s marquee names.

Five time world’s strongest man Mariusz Pudzianowski (12-5) and former KSW heavyweight champion Karol Bedorf (14-3) will finally square off in a fight that is years in the making. Pudzianowski is arguably in the best shape of his MMA career and comes into this contest having won his last three fights.

Sidelined through injury for the past year, Bedorf will be chomping at the bit to get back into the cage and will certainly see this as the perfect opportunity to move a step closer to getting his heavyweight title back. Fans will finally get to see these two behemoths meet in the middle of the KSW arena.

The fate of the KSW featherweight title will be decided as old rivals Marcin Wrzosek (13-4) and Kleber Koike Erbst (23-4-1) meet once again with the vacant title up for grabs. Wrzosek originally dropped the title to Erbst at the historic KSW 39 event last year but immediately bounced back with a win in his next fight and now ‘The Polish Zombie’ has worked his way back into title contention. Erbst will also be clamouring to get the title back having relinquished it before his last fight due to uncharacteristically missing weight. The Japanese fighter has proven to be one of the best featherweights in the world over the past decade with just one loss and nineteen wins since 2009.

A pair of legends will meet at KSW 44 in Gdansk, Poland on June 9 as German veteran Martin Zawada (28-14-1) faces former KSW middleweight champion Michal Materla (25-6) in a 90kg catchweight contest.

Known as a true veteran throughout Europe, Zawada has fought across the continent for the past fifteen years against some of the the top fighters on the scene including the likes of Mamed Khalidov, Jason Jones, and Igor Pokrajac, to name just a few. The heavy handed 34-year-old has earned a reputation for being one of the toughest and hardest hitting fighters ever produced in Europe and holds a career total of eighteen wins coming via KO/TKO.

Zawada returned to KSW earlier this after a ten year absence to rematch KSW legend Lukasz Jukowski and renewing a rivalry first formed at KSW 6 back in 2006. It was a ferocious fight with both men landing blow after blow but it was Zawada’s night once again after Jurkowski suffered an injury at the end of the first round.

Moving on from one KSW legend, Zawada now faces another in the shape of former middleweight champ Michal Materla. One of the most popular MMA fighters in Poland, Materla was on a quest to get back his middleweight strap knocking out Rousimar Palhares, Paulo Thiago, and Antoni Chmielewski before being stopped by top UK fighter Scott Askham in his last outing. Now we can expect the man they call ‘Cipao’, to return with great fury and focus as he looks to get back to winning ways.

News: Filip Wolanski vs Daniel Torres and Sebastian Przybysz vs Dawid Gralka added to KSW 44

Two exciting fights have been added to KSW 44 at the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland on June 9, as rising featherweight star Filip Wolanski (11-2) faces dangerous Brazilian Daniel Torres (7-3) while bantamweights Sebastian Przybysz (3-1) and Dawid Gralka (6-1) will both kick-off the card in what will be their respective KSW debuts.

Wolanski comes into this fight having secured consecutive decision wins over Bartłomiej Kopera and Denilson Neves. The 26-year-old is in impressive form with wins in ten of his last eleven bouts, the sole loss coming via decision to former champ Marcin Wrzosek at KSW 35. Now, he will look to continue that impressive run as he welcomes Daniel Torres to the KSW federation.

Hailing from Brazil, Torres arrives at KSW in the midst of an impressive run of his own. Starting his professional career with two consecutive loses, he has since embarked on a run which has seen him win seven of his last eight fights and has registered a number of exciting KO finishes in that time. The 24-year-old will now look to make a splash in his KSW debut by silencing the Polish crowd in Gdansk.

Also making their debuts will be a pair of Polish prospects, as Gdansk’s own Sebastian Przybysz and Dawid Gralka kick-off the KSW 44 card. The bantamweights will both be looking to start their KSW careers with a bang. With two finishes already to his name, Przybysz may have the support of the crowd but Gralka enters on a four-fight-win-streak and carries a well deserved reputation for snatching leglocks early in the fight.

News: SBG’s Chris Fields takes on KO artist Wagner Prado at KSW 44

A key fight in the KSW light heavyweight division has been added to KSW 44 on June 9 as Irish veteran Chris “The Housewives Choice” Fields (12-7-1) takes on Brazilian knockout artist Wagner “Caldeirao” Prado (13-3).

A former Cage Warriors champion and TUF contestant, Fields made his KSW debut in his hometown of Dublin last October in a winning effort against Michal Fijalka. The 34-year-old showed veteran craftiness en route to a unanimous decision victory in front of one of the biggest crowds ever seen in Ireland for an MMA event.

The SBG trained 34-year-old was originally scheduled to compete at KSW 42 at the beginning of the year however due to adverse weather conditions in Europe all flights were cancelled. This, along with facing an opponent like Prado has given the Irishman plenty of reasons to be fired up.

“I’m looking forward to putting on a show for the fans after the disaster of the last time not getting to make it to compete,” said Fields. “Prado is an explosive fighter but has shown he can’t grapple. He has been choked and knee barred…. and I like both!”

Prado has built a fierce reputation in Brazil as a finisher and dangerous knockout artist having won all but one of his fights via KO/TKO. After going 8-0 as a professional the 30-year-old was snapped up by the UFC in 2012 and competed three times for the promotion including a pair of fights against Phil Davis. In late 2013 he returned to the Brazilian scene and picked up right where he left off, going 5-1 with five devastating stoppages in that time.

Both men will be targeting a shot at the KSW light heavyweight title held by Tomasz Narkun, who just defeated MMA legend Mamed Khalidov in a fight of the year candidate at KSW 42.

KSW 44 takes place June 9 at the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland and will be available to watch live around the world on www.KSWTV.com.

News: Paul Redmond to face Gracjan Szadzinski at KSW 44

Ireland’s Paul Redmond (14-7) returns to the KSW arena on June 9th and will face rising Polish prospect Gracjan Szadzinski (7-2) at KSW 44 in Gdansk, Poland.

The Team Ryano fighter made a successful debut for the promotion in his hometown of Dublin last October defeating durable veteran Lukasz Chlewicki on points. The 31-year-old rose to prominence following a 7-1 run fighting under the Cage Warriors banner before being snapped up by the UFC as a short notice replacement. After two tough fights against Mirsad Bektic and Robert Whiteford in the UFC, he returned the European scene and has been on flying form, scoring big wins in both BAMMA and Bellator as well as his KSW debut.

With the well travelled Redmond in such great form, this fight provides Szadzinski the biggest opportunity of his career, a chance to register a win over one of the top lightweights in Europe.

With two KSW appearances already under his belt, Szadzinski comes into this contest with a fierce and well deserved reputation for finishing his opponents. The lightweight has five TKO/KO finishes to his name including two first round wins his his past two fights, his latest being over the previously undefeated Maciej Kazieczko at KSW 41 in December.
